The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.
Applications at the moment are open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to fulfill the subsequent criteria:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house using a combined gross home earnings that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined home income would not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not post any proof of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants are reminded to offer the correct Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are finding out or plan to study at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to website study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
